10 Undesirable beauty problems and how to fix them

Some beauty problems are just run-of-the-mill irritations, but others are a lot worse. These are the beauty problems that people don’t want to talk about, the slightly more embarrassing or unsightly ones that a girl needs to tackle sometimes. Here’s a list of ten undesirable beauty problems that a girl can be burdened with, and some ideas on how you can fix them.
1. Warts
Warts, which are caused by a virus that you can pick from other people, can look horrible and they can also spread to other parts of the body. Warts will actually disappear of their own accord, but it’s best to get rid of them fast, so that they don’t spread. There are plenty of over the counter creams that will deal with warts, or you can have them frozen off by a doctor or dermatologist. You can also treat them yourself with apple cider vinegar.
2. Dandruff
Dandruff is what causes white flakes to appear on the shoulders of your black outfit. The flakes, are flakes of dead skin and the condition can be caused by a number of different factors, including a fungal infection, your diet or the hair products that you are using irritating your scalp. The easiest solution for dandruff is to use one of the many anti-dandruff shampoos that are on the market or just add two crushed aspirins to your regular shampoo. Aspirin contains salicylic acid, which is the active ingredient in many dandruff shampoos.
3. Foot odour
Foot odour, medically known as bromodosis, is caused by bacteria on your feet feeding in sweat. Hmm, nice!  Not a problem, when you have your shoes on but when you kick them off, foot odour will rapidly clear the room! You have more sweat glands in your feet than anywhere else on your body, so it’s important that you don’t wear the same pair of shoes two days running, in order that the sweat in the shoes gets a chance to dry out. If foot odour is a persistent problem, then you can buy charcoal shoe inserts that neutralise the smell or antiperspirant, deodorising foot sprays and powders.
4. Cold sores
Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus, which lies dormant in the body of most people from childhood until the cold sores are triggered by tiredness, illness or just having a high temperature. The usual treatment is an ointment, which will contain antibiotics and cortisone. If you get a lot of cold sores then see your doctor, who may prescribe oral medication for you.
5. Moles
Moles are small, concentrated spots of cells called melanocytes, which are the cells that give our skin its colouring. Sometimes, moles are present when you are born, but most moles develop during the years up until about when you are thirty years of age. There’s not a great deal that you can do about unsightly moles, other than have cosmetic surgery to remove them, if they really bother you. Most moles are perfectly harmless but, if you do have one that starts to bleed, is more than one colour or it grows significantly in size, then see your doctor about it as soon as possible.
6. Bad breath
Bad breath, or halitosis, can be caused by a number of different things, including bacteria, poor oral hygiene and what you eat. To avoid bad breath, clean your teeth twice a day, floss and use a mouthwash. Also, stay hydrated, because a dry mouth can cause bad breath too, and, if you really don’t want garlic breath, don’t eat garlic!
7. Ingrown hairs
Ingrown hairs usually appear in areas where you shave and they can cause unsightly red bumps on the skin, because the pore gets clogged and becomes infected. To clear them up, use a cleanser that contains salicylic acid, which will unclog the pores. To avoid getting ingrown hairs, always use a clean razor, don’t keep your razors for too long and shave in the same direction as the hairs are growing.
8. Facial hair
Excessive facial hair can be genetic problem or it can be brought on by hormonal changes in your body. Facial hair can be removed by waxing but, that can be painful, or you have other options such as laser treatment, electrolysis or you could bleach the hair to make it less visible. Avoid shaving facial hair, though, because that can leave you with coarse stubble.
9. Yellow nails
Yellowing nails are usually caused by your using dark coloured nail polish too often. The easiest way to restore the natural colour of your nails is to run them with some cotton wool dabbed in a mixture of a few drops of lemon juice and olive oil.
10. Dark armpits
Dark armpits are caused by something called post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is the result of sweating and friction caused by rubbing or shaving the area. The best way to avoid it is to shave the area very gently and always use plenty of shaving gel. Also, always make sure that you wash well under your arms after a workout or a run to remove all traces of sweat.
